Getting Even Geekier: Pixies ‘n Pixels Offering Design Services, now

As I continue my quest for bigger, better, brighter geeky skills, I find that old friends and new contacts find themselves in need of reasonably priced, thematic design pieces. I’ve started answering that need by offering a la carte design services through GGF’s “little sister”, Pixies ‘n Pixels. Thus far, I’ve spent more time working on my clients’ work, and my own school work, as I progress through my degree, but the doors are open over at PixNPix, as well as here, at GGF.

To give you a taste of what I’ve been doing….

The Gallows Flower cover - art by Justine Greene/FairyFindings

This is the cover art for Shiva Rodriguez’s forthcoming digital release of The Gallows Flower. It’s a gothic, period romance about a female executioner. Ms. Rodriguez has done extensive historical research about history’s legalized hitmen, and she’s turned that background into the basis for this  engaging fictional tale of one woman, raised in a man’s world, who rises above stations, social prejudices and misfortune.

I’ve also done some cover design for Alexian, a respected Pagan musician, who’s based here in Florida. Previously, I designed the cover for his online single release, Cool to be a Witch 2.0. He asked me to come back for round two, and I did the art for his newest single, Death’s Lullaby. I actually designed two version of the cover for him. I worked with his initial concept description, then I created one design based closely upon those guidelines. However, I also created one that had more emphasis on the type, and therefore the name of his song . While both pieces turned out beautifully, he actually elected to use the second version I’d created, implementing my design recommendations.

Geek Gyrl Friday’s website is back up & running, again (as you’ve already figured out, you clever person, since you’re reading this on the site, right now.)

I’ve taken the plunge, back into the murky, fascinating depths of college. Yes, I’m a full time student, majoring – double majoring, technically – in Graphic Design & Interactive (Web) Design at Valencia College, in Orlando,

Florida. The last 6 weeks of the Spring semester are rapidly wrapping up, hurtling me towards the summer, and more educational, intriguing and enlightening classes. I’m thoroughly enjoying school, and the knowledge that as I proceed through courses, my “tool box” is filling out, nicely. This means I can offer more services to my clients.

Which leads me to……

GGF is accepting new clients, on a part time basis. I’ll also continue to accept a la carte contracts from media geeks and gurus who may not need a part time virtual assistant and/or social site manager and/or web assistant; but do need a project wrapped up with a bow and presented to the world. Contact me at GeekGyrl@GeekGyrlFriday.com or GeekGyrlFriday@gmail.com so I can make your life easier, and help you reach the rest of the world.
